First Day of Filming

Hello, it’s Renato Corrales, back with another blog. Today I'll be talking about the filming process of our music video. For our music video, we decided to film it at the Galleria Mall, CVS, and my neighborhood. Throughout our filming, we were able to get 5 scenes done. We first started at the Galleria Mall. Once we all had arrived, we decided to film a scene at the "jewelry store". Finn and his friend Sarah decided to be the scene. Me and Connor on the other hand filmed the scene while Isahiah coordinated how we wanted the scene to play out. We were able to get two scenes with Finn and Sarah. One used a tracking shot having Sarah tell Finn what she wants. Our other scene did a tilt from a zoom-in on the jewelry to Sarah and Finn. Once we had that scene done, we realized how good those two alone had already looked. We then proceeded to go to the top of the roof of the mall, just like how Drake is on the roof in his video. Once up there we decided to film our two scenes on the roof from our storyboard. We first decided to do our establishing shot with Connor and Isaiah. We had Finn coordinate for the timing of Connor and Isahiah to pop into the view of the camera, while I filmed. We then switched roles, having me and Finn appear in front of the camera. Once both scenes were done we wanted to get one more done inside the mall, specifically with one of the esclators. Once entered one of the clothing stores, we were able to film quickly the scene on the escalator having me and Finn once again in it. We had to quickly wrap up the amount of takes we could take since we all had to leave for our sports and afterschool activities, due to filming this on a Tuesday. Overall, this was a great day for our filming and we were already able to have 5 scenes of the desired 15 we want to do.
