Finishing Editing

Image
Hello, it's Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today, I'll be talking about wrapping up editing for our "The Zoo" culture club gym. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, we had tons of tools and features at our disposal. Being mentioned before, with the tons of footage we had, importing them into the Adobe timeline feature was the first step to creating our story with now all of our footage. We used Adobe's collaborative tools,  sharing project files and exchanging feedback in real-time. As we trimmed, cut, and rearranged clips, Adobe's interface only motivated our group to focus on as many details as possible. Transitions were important to us and utilizing Adobe's effects helped enhance our storytelling. The audio aspect of Adobe Audition allows us to as well play with the level of sounds from our dialogue to sound backgrounds. With Adobe After Effects,  adding our titles with our fonts and special effects helped our film really stand out. As the editing process

Finalizing Filming

Image
Hello it's Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today's plan was to finalize the last scenes we had to do for filming our movie. We have already filmed some scenes of my character training, a few of me and Finn, and Isahiah and I's dialogue. However, we still needed to get some crucial scenes of all of us together and most importantly in a boxing location. This was an obstacle we had had for a while due to the availability of a boxing location being very limited for us. Our first problem was finding a gym we could all go to. We needed to find a gym that had a boxing ring but that was not very common. After doing some searching we were able to find a gym called "The Zoo" culture club gym that had one. The next problem was filming. We needed to know if we were going to be able to be allowed and whether we could all go, due to The Zoo being a private gym. This was our plan since the beginning but could not move any forward since we needed to either pay to the gym

Editing

Hello it's Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today, I'll be talking about our editing process. We have still yet to film more shots of our shots but could say we are more then half done. So after our filming sessions at the beach and the restaurant, we decided to start editing. Our first task was to sift through all the footage we captured. Conner's drone shots added a new perspective, so we could creative how we pieces it together. We carefully selected the best takes and began piecing together our story. We experimented with transitions, music, and sound effects to enhance the overall mood and tone of the film throguh the use of Adobe. Isahiah's dialogue scenes were particularly challenging to edit, but we worked to find the perfect balance of the background audio and his voice. As we continued editing, we constantly referred back to our storyboard for the film, to have something to indicate our story. Collaboration  was key throughout the editing process, with

Music Choice

Image
Hello, it's Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today I will be talking about the selection process for the music for our movie. When it came to choosing the music, there were a few rules. Knowing the movie has to be a length of 1:55 max, we knew the song could not be long. Due to the song also not taking up the whole song, we need a short part of the song. This part would need to be a snippet that fits well with our movie's theme. Talking about the theme, we also wanted a song that was hype, something that a boxer would listen to. We searched for different songs and not to our surprise had lots of choices. There were choices like Kanye West's "Black Skinhead", Drake's "Back to Back", and Eminem's "Lose Yourself". At first, we were excited to see all the music options we had but we then recalled another rule there was to the music. The music for our movie could not be copyrighted, however, if wanting to still use it we would have t

Filming with involvement of all characters

Hello guys welcome back to another blog. It’s Renato Corrales back at it and it’s once again going to be about filming. The past 2 weekends have been dedicated to filming and today we are going to finish some more scenes with more characters. The location for today was now the beach. We went with Conner, Finn, Isahiah, our friend Sarah and I to film our scenes. We first started with a scene that had multiple shots including me, Finn and Sarah. Sarah and Finn were first filmed looking at the beach relaxing while I was running in the background. This was to try show my character as hard working while Finn’s lazy. Conner filmed another shot with his drone of me running along the shore. When putting these two clips together it will later give the effect of me running a long time, to the point past my opponent who is at the beach chilling. Conner filmed one more scene of just Sarah and Finn together pretending to laugh. This was for the indication Finn’s not caring and being cocky for his

Continuing in filming

Hello, it's Renato Corrales, back with another blog. Today I will be talking about the continuation of filming for my project, the opening sequence of a movie. It has been a week now since we first filmed a few scenes for our movie. Now with it being the weekend again, have been able to get more done due to our schedules not being busy. This weekend we planned to film both days. Isahiah and Finn weren't available today but they should be tomorrow. With that at hand, Conner and I decided to film some more scenes, involving just our characters. Conner and I first met up at LA Fitness. We decided to film some training scenes involving my character again and test some scenes. We first started filming some sparring scenes however we did not have any gloves. We decided to practice the coordination and camera angles to be used for the scene and then reshoot it if we needed to with gloves. We progressed around the gym using the treadmill and punching bag for the training scenes. We ran

Beginning of filming

Hello it's me Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today I'll be talking about the commencing of our filming for our opening sequence to our movie. Today me and my group member Conner filmed a few scenes for our "training" scene as well as a few dialogue scenes. Finn and Isahiah were currently unavailable for the weekend, so me and Conner decided to film some scenes with only our characters included. Conner first came over to my neighborhood, sunrise intercostal, with some of his equipment. This included some microphones for our audio to be easily heard throughout the film. He also brought a drone which would come in later use for our training scene. We first started with going to my neighborhood looking for a safe area to film. The plan was to have Conner use the drone to film me running, showing my character training for the fight. We could also simultaneously cover many shots for our film such as aerial shot, pan shot and establishing shot. There were a few tria

Coordination and planning for our music video

Hello, it's me Renato Corrales back with another blog. This time I will be blogging for my new project,  "The final task". Me and my group will be filming the opening sequence to a movie, which we had decided would be boxing. The boxers will be Me and Finn, Isahiah will be my trainer and Conner will be the news reporter. We first decided to all meet in class to coordinate when we could film and how would we format this project. We first looked at the scheduling and the availability we had. Finn and I would have our Saturday mornings busy every weekend. We also took note sometimes Isahiah has his weekends fully occupied but not every one. As well Conner cannot film after schooldays but most of us couldn't either. We came to the conclusion that filming would be a challenge for all of us at the same time. However, we realized we could film separate scenes with certain memebers not there and still progress with our scenes. We also agreed to have constant communication wit
