Transitoning towards editing

Image
Hello, my name is Renato Corrales and I'm back with another blog. Today I'll be talking about the search and editing process of our project. When looking at the music video itself, our group came to the conclusion that our scenes were set. We looked at a total of 11 scenes and added up the seconds. We came to around the 1 minute 5 seconds mark, and with 2 more scenes, it would add up right to the limit of our video. We originally had wanted to try and film maybe 1 more but realized it would be best to start editing. We also noted that in the song, "God's Plan" the song around the 1 minute 11 mark isn't that just abruptly end. It is a verse that is also at the end of the song, thus would be a good fadeaway to end our music video. When noting this we wanted to find software that could edit the transitions in our scenes, transition in sound, and sync our song well to our scenes. When it came to researching about a software called, Capcut, this didn't take muc

Wrapping up filming

Hello it’s Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today I’ll be talking about the finishing of the filming done for our music video. For day 2 we decided to finish 7 scenes of our music video. We had already finished 5 for our first day of filming and 3 of them were going to be text and edited in our music video. So we decided to all meet up at my house. Once at my house we were able to obtain a few props for our music video. This included a wig, check and bow. The first scene was done using Isahiah and Finn in the scene with me filming then using a car as a “gift”. We experienced some issues with weather due to it being so windy. We easily solved this with having Connor holding onto the bow prop onto the car so it wouldn’t blow and then quickly running away. Once the scene was done we filmed inside the car and moved onto the next setting. We then entered a playground in my neighborhood to film the scene of handing the homeless a check of money. In our first scene we had change his c

First Day of Filming

Hello, it’s Renato Corrales, back with another blog. Today I'll be talking about the filming process of our music video. For our music video, we decided to film it at the Galleria Mall, CVS, and my neighborhood. Throughout our filming, we were able to get 5 scenes done. We first started at the Galleria Mall. Once we all had arrived, we decided to film a scene at the "jewelry store". Finn and his friend Sarah decided to be the scene. Me and Connor on the other hand filmed the scene while Isahiah coordinated how we wanted the scene to play out. We were able to get two scenes with Finn and Sarah. One used a tracking shot having Sarah tell Finn what she wants. Our other scene did a tilt from a zoom-in on the jewelry to Sarah and Finn. Once we had that scene done, we realized how good those two alone had already looked. We then proceeded to go to the top of the roof of the mall, just like how Drake is on the roof in his video. Once up there we decided to film our two scenes on

Production Blog: Coordination

Hello, my name is Renato Corrales and I'm back with another blog. Today I'll be talking about our planning and finalization for setting up. When discussing our options of when the members can do our first meet-up, there were a few obstacles. First, we needed to find a time when we could all meet up to discuss it. Luckily, one of our classes landed together for all of us, allowing us to talk and arrange. During this class, we were able to see everyone's schedules. When looking at dates possible for us, we thought it would be best to look at our weekends for the first production. When it came to Conner, he was able to the weekend of 21 and 22, and the 28th. Finn could do the 29 and 28 and Isahiah was a maybe on the 21 and 22 but it was quite close and could not be weekdays for sure. I couldn't the 28 so we all had different days occupied. We all came to the realization that we could all do the following Tuesday and when rearranging, we all could do the Sunday 22nd. We dec

Production Blog: Location and Time

Image
Hello, it's me Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today I will be writing about the planning process of settling and preparing to start the music video. When it came to location, I first had to talk to each one of my members. Since we all live in different areas, we needed to figure out an area near all of us. When discussing an area near all of us, we thought it would be best an area with many shops and stores. After searching we thought the Galleria Mall would be best for our shoot. It is right in the middle between me and Connor and is a location Isahiah and Finn go to often. We thought this was best due to many reasons. There is a neighborhood right behind where we can project our scenes such as finding a dog walking around. Another is the CVS only a block down where we can reenact the scenes of giving back to the community. We decided to replace the CVS instead of the dollar tree originally chosen in our storyboard, due to it being more convenient to everybody. Finally,

For our costumes, we can consider wardrobe alternatives that are suitable for the different weather c

Group Blog Music Video

Hello, it's me Renato Corrales back with another blog. Today I will be talking about people I will be working for my music video and why. Additionally, I will be telling about the song we picked out and the reason behind it. For my project, I will be working with three people, Finn, Connor, and Isahiah. There were different reasons why each member was chosen. Finn, I thought we would be a good addition to our group due to his wittiness. His quick thinking and sense of humor can really help in making our music video scenes, and if needed, improvise on what needs to be done to make the music video still look entertaining. For Connor, he would also be a great asset to our group due to his creativity. Connor's ability to think outside the box and come up with ideas really can aid our storyline. Connor can bring fresh perspectives and originality to our project helping our project look the best it can be. For Isaiah, he would be a big contribution to our group due to his technology

Introduction Blog Music Video

Hello, I'm back with another blog for my brand-new project. My name is Renato Corrales and I attend Fort Lauderdale High. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I live with my family, my mom, dad, and one brother. From early on, I always had a love for math. It became a significant part of my life and I hope to pursue it. Education has always been a priority for me, and I hope to go to Oxford University. Talking about academics, my academic journey first started at Bayview Elementary. I have great memories there and where I learned so much. I then went to Sunrise Middle, where I met most of the friends I have made today. And finally, I'm at Fort Lauderdale High School, where I'm a sophomore. Also from a young age, I have done swimming. Swimming was a sport I wasn't so committed to at first, but it ended up being the sport I do 24/7. I do practice before school and till late after school, so it is something that has become a part of my life. Swimming has also
